Meet Trino from HondurasOur new Co-Project Leader working with Child Aid in Belize Name: Jose Trinidad Bonilla Nationality: Honduras Project: Child Aid, Belize
Hello, I want to tell you how I became part of this project; I started with a volunteer program in St. Vincent, to go to Africa. I took part in training for six month where I learned a lot. I learned about the life and the living conditions in Africa and much more. We were getting ready to the trip and that is not easy, ….. to leave the relatives, friends and more. But everything is for one reason; for the development of Africa I was in South Africa working in TCE, a project of Humana People to People to fight against HIV and AIDS. TCE have so many different programs for the development of the communities, and I spend six months as a volunteer there. To work in South Africa with TCE was a huge satisfaction and I was feeling well with myself, knowing that we can be really useful and help a lot of people. After 6 months in Africa I came back to the school where I had an evaluation to find out if I was ready to continue working as a project leader or a co-project leader. I decided to go back to Belize where I discovered about Child Aid and I realized that I could continue with my goal of help the poorest people. Today I am part of Child Aid, Belize and I hope to continue in this fight for development, not only in Belize. I hope to be in the future in other projects in Central America that Humana People to People will be running. I hope the people still supporting this cost for the development of the poorest countries. Right now our plan is to continue with a new Child Aid project in the northern part of Belize, - with activities to the development of the communities such as education, sanitation, etc. I am very happy to take part in the new project and I believe the people will also be happy to get some help from me… |
