Meet Nico from Argentina

In Camp Future in HPP-Belize, working with Child Aid project

Hello!
I am Nicolas Anso from Argentina.
Two years ago I decided to change my life, when I took a break of my university and enrolled into a volunteer program.
As part of this program I spend 10 month of intensive training in England to become a Development Instructor (DI).
After this 10 month I was ready to go to Africa and give my best to, at least, try to be useful and helpful.
That’s how I went to Mozambique to work for 6 month in Children’ Town. Over there I was so happy to be in the project working with orphans, street children’s and kids with HIV/AIDS. Also I was happy to see the others project of the organization (Humana People to People) and to see how useful they were for the local people.
The time had come extremely fast and after 6 months of hard work I got a huge satisfaction. At the moment of say goodbye to all my friends I feel so good when I heard how thankful they were to me. I experimented one felling that I did not know it is to fell useful and proud of myself for being able to change so many things in only six months.
That big satisfaction is really important to me. That’s why I am decided to continue with this work, there are so many things that I can have but I do not want, I only want to keep doing this kind of work making people happy and getting happy.
Looking the way to continue with the social work I finish in Belize, - a place which I like for many reasons, but the most important is that it is closer to my home and I fell a bit different than in Africa, it is like being back in my own culture and do the same great job.
Right now I am doing a short period of two months in Child Aid Toledo. Getting to know the project, the people, the work and everything else.
And after it I’ll go back home to Argentina and will then come back to Belize to work in the Child Aid project for a couple of years. Trying to give every child around me the best beginning in their life and equal opportunities to affront the future. That is basically what this project wants and that’s why I decided to stay here and do everything possible to achieve our goals.
I am sure if everyone starts to work together in union, organized and for the benefit of a big group and not only for a couples of people the change is possible. If everyone decided to change a little bit of the unfair stuff in this world in just one day we can change what a person do in the whole life.
